The President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, is participating today and tomorrow in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, in the 27th session of the conference of Heads of State and Government of the parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP27).
The Mozambican statesman will also participate in parallel events, with emphasis on the high-level meeting on loss, damage and disaster risk reduction in Africa, organized by Mozambique as the African Champion in Disaster Risk Reduction.
At the summit, President Nyusi will convey Mozambique's commitment to combat the effects of climate change, as well as to implement the Paris Agreement on the matter.
On this trip, President Nyusi will be accompanied by the ministers of Agriculture and Rural Development, Celso Correia; Land and Environment, Ivete Maibasse; Transport and Communications, Mateus Magala; deputy ministers of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Manuel Gonçalves; Public Works, Housing and Water Resources, Cecilia Chamutota; Economy and Finance, Amilcar Tivane; and the ambassador of Mozambique in Egypt, Filipe Chidumo.
