According to data advanced by the Central Office for Combating Corruption (GCCC) in the first half of this year alone more than 1300 criminal cases were processed throughout the country.
Of the cases processed, 678 have already been finalized, of which 518 have been charged to those involved.
Interestingly, the spokesman for the Central Office for Combating Corruption, says that most of the cases involve magistrates and police officers; the National Criminal Investigation Service (SERNIC) and the National Migration Service (SENAMI).
Romualdo Johnam, who was speaking this Tuesday in Maputo at a press conference, said that among the cases with the highest incidence are the misuse of public funds, abuse of office or function, simulation of powers and improper collection of values.
The source also said that the Central Office for Combating Corruption and the Attorney General's Office continue to register a high number of corruption-related cases in the country.
