The presidential candidate leading the biggest protest against the election results in Mozambique since the country's first elections, Venâncio Mondlane, promised on Thursday (02) to come forward with details about the next phase of the demonstrations, called "Ponta de Lança" (Spearhead).
Speaking this Monday (30) on his Facebook account, the PODEMOS presidential candidate accused the Mozambican statesman of a lack of interest in resolving the crisis that the country has been going through since October.
Venâncio Mondlane accused the government of launching chaos and terror in order to then blame the opposition and gain legitimacy to repress the protests. For this reason, he called on Mozambicans to celebrate New Year's Eve by singing the national anthem, reiterating the continuity of the demonstrations.
"The demonstrations will not stop," said Mondlane, stressing that he was open to dialogue in order to overcome the crisis.
On the same occasion, the PODEMOS presidential candidate called on Mozambicans to unite in order to overcome the situation the country is experiencing.
"They are trying to divide Mozambicans. In order to continue with our objective, the Mozambican people must unite once again, just as they did in the first phases of the demonstrations. Let's join hands again and sing the national anthem," he insisted.
