The European Union reiterates its commitment to continue to provide financial support to Mozambique in the face of the natural disasters that cyclically affect the country.
The commitment was made this Monday in Brussels, capital of Belgium, by the commissioner of that continental organization for international partnerships, Jutta Urpilainen, in a meeting she held with the President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi.
The meeting took place behind closed doors and, at the end, the Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Manuel Gonçalves, said that the European Union was one of the main partners that mobilized to hold the international conference after IDAI.
Manuel Gonçalves said that President Filipe Nyusi's visit to Brussels aims to strengthen cooperation between Mozambique and the European Union, in the areas of infrastructure, peace consolidation, humanitarian assistance and investments.
Mozambique is the second largest recipient country in Africa of financial aid from the European Union, which is around seven hundred million euros per year, for the implementation of various social and economic development projects.
