UE anuncia 100 milhões de euros para construção dos corredores rodoviários e ferroviários na região Austral

The European Union (EU) will invest more than 100 million euros to build road and rail corridors in southern Africa, linking Mozambique on the Indian Ocean coast to Namibia on the Atlantic side.

The information was given yesterday by the European Union's ambassador to Mozambique, Antonino Magggiore, during a press conference aimed at officially launching the first Mozambique-European Union Business Forum, which will take place from November 22 to 23.

The source said that the amount is part of around one billion euros that the European regional organization intends to make available for the construction of eleven development corridors in Africa.

"This is one of the ten corridors that will join Mozambique to Namibia. It's a project that will require a huge financial effort," he said.
