The Maputo City Judicial Court (TJCM) has upheld the injunction submitted by the residents of Costa do Sol to challenge the presence of the Concrete Industrial Plant.

The infrastructure is considered inappropriate for construction and operation in a residential area, in addition to the harmful impacts it could have on the city of Maputo.

According to the order of March 4, 2024, quoted by Change, the 9th Civil Chamber of the TJCM upheld the precautionary measure, because the initial request that brought the case to court had been proven, and consequently ordered the immediate suspension of the construction activities of the concrete plant on plot 660 A.

"This order comes as a result of the appeal lodged by the Chinese company that built the Concrete Industrial Plant and upholds the embargo decision," it reads.
