The Totalenergies oil company may resume its activities in Afungi, Area 1 of the Rovuma Basin, as a result of improved security conditions, with the expulsion of the terrorists who on March 24 last year attacked the district of Palma, forcing the multinational company to stop its work.
"The military action in Cabo Delgado allows us to ensure that in the short term Total will be able to resume activities in Afungi," assured the Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy, Carlos Zacarias.
The governor, who was speaking this Wednesday in the Parliament, assured the improvement of rural electrification with the placement of energy in more than 50 administrative posts, of which 19, in the provinces of Niassa, Nampula, Zambezia and Cabo Delgado.
Carlos Zacarias also assured that in the next few days construction and rehabilitation works will start on the substations of Infulene, Matola-Gare and Magoanine, with a view to improving the electricity grid in the Greater Maputo region, as well as similar interventions in the provinces of Tete and Sofala.
