In Tete province, certain public institutions, may be held liable in court, due to the embezzlement of funds intended for the emergency, in the context of covid-19.
The irregularities include the direct adjustment for the provision of services and the acquisition of goods, without proper justification and the payment of per diems to ineligible individuals.
The director of the Provincial Services of Economy and Finance, in Tete, Luís Bongice said quoted by Radio Mozambique that the emergency nature of the situation was not a premise for the non-compliance with the regulations.
Luís Bongice referred that at this moment the process is going through its legal procedures. As has occurred throughout the country, in Tete several state institutions have benefited from covid-19's emergency fund, especially in the sectors of Social Action, Education, Health, and Public Works.
