TAP wants to 'curb' delays and cancellations

The Portuguese Air Transport Company has launched a set of measures aimed at reducing the number of delays and cancellations.

TAP - Portuguese Air Transport, is implementing a set of measures aimed at reducing the number of delays and cancellations, at a time when the aviation sector is experiencing various constraints, says Notícias ao Minuto, citing Jornal de Negócios.

According to the same newspaper, the company hired Hi Fly on an ACMI basis - aircraft leasing, including pilots, crew, maintenance and insurance - to operate the Punta Cana, Warsaw and Vienna routes for "one month."

There's more. The airline has also reduced the number of flights in some destinations, blocked additional sales, and reinforced the team with 70 cabin crew members until the end of the summer.

On July 4th, TAP's CEO had already acknowledged that the airline "is not offering the excellent service" it had planned, after a weekend with several cancellations, and warned that the crisis in the sector "is not likely to improve in the coming weeks.
