An Indian startup has built the lightest electric vehicle ever," according to the company itself it is the fastest car the country has ever produced, according to international press analysis.
The Ekonk, built by Mumbai-based Vazirani Automotive, is a prototype EV that follows the concept of the company's 'Shul' model, which made its debut at the iconic 'Goodwood Festival of Speed'.
According to the portal "multinews", the single-seater model uses a custom-built battery, whose cooling system is in charge of the air passage, instead of the traditional liquid cooling.
The car weighs 738 kg, thanks to a carbon-fiber structure.
The heart of this EV is 722 horsepower, reaching a top speed of 308 km/h, and going from 0km to 100km in just 2.5 seconds.
The car was tested on a high-speed track near Indore, India.
"For us, the Ekonk means a beginning. It is our first 'living' vehicle," company founder and former Rolls-Royce designer Chunky Vazirani exclaimed in a statement.
It is not yet clear whether this model will be marketed, but the company has already guaranteed that at least some of the technology tested will be part of new versions of the 'Shul.
