The Fishing Sector registered in 2021 a growth of about 3% in the country, compared to the previous year, said the Minister of Sea, Inland Waters and Fisheries, Lídia Cardoso, during the institution's Consultative Council in Maputo.
The minister also said that by 2024 the fishing sector foresees the capture of 683,000 tons of fish, throughout the country. Of this goal, said the minister, 65% of the expected amount of fish has already been reached.
The governor also referred that in 2023 the sector will focus its attention on the blue economy, fishing, aquaculture, and inspection, because according to her, the sea is a source of wealth that needs to be better capitalized.
