Puma Energy announced the conclusion of the acquisition of AirBP's aviation fuel assets to operate in seven airports in Mozambique, following approval from the Competition Regulatory Authority (ARC).
In a statement released on Tuesday, the oil company considers that this acquisition will strengthen Puma Energy Aviation's presence at seven major airports in Mozambique, in line with the company's strategic ambition to concentrate growth on high-potential downstream markets through prudent investments.
To this end, all of AirBP's assets in Mozambique, according to the note, have already been transferred to Puma Energy Mozambique, so the company will serve customers through facilities and equipment at the airports of Maputo, Beira, Nampula, Tete, Pemba, Quelimane and Vilankulo, having integrated 26 workers as part of the transaction.
Quoted in the statement, the managing director of Puma Energy Mozambique, Danilo Neves Correia, stressed that Puma Energy Aviation will continue to invest in training and equipment to ensure that the country's airports continue to be among the best served in Africa.
"The facilities will continue to operate to the highest industry standards set by IATA and the JIG. Puma Energy remains committed to safety, reliability and efficient service," he said, noting that this transaction represents another step towards growing the company in the country.
