First borehole of the fifth oil and gas tender will be opened by the end of March

The Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy, Max Tonela, said last week, that by the end of the first quarter of 2022 the opening of the borehole in Angoche will be announced as part of the results of the fifth tender launched in 2014.

According to the governor, work is currently underway to acquire two- and three-dimensional seismic data and to drill the boreholes themselves.

"The first one is planned for the first quarter of next year. This is time-consuming work by its nature and our perspective is to continue to do research to secure knowledge and determine when to do exploration," Max Tonela assured.

For now, the president of the Board of Directors of the National Petroleum Institute (INP), Carlos Zacarias, stressed that the fifth tender has already closed and the companies are evaluating.
