The President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, is launching this Thursday the Mozambique's Candidacy Campaign to become a Non-Permanent Member of the United Nations Security Council for 2023-2025.
The launch of the aforementioned application, which will take place at the Joaquim Chissano Conference Center, follows a decision to this effect taken about a year ago by the Government of Mozambique. The initiative has received the endorsement of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) and the African Union (AU).
The elections to the United Nations Security Council will take place during the 76th Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York in June 2022.
