The President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, clarified on Thursday that the successive delays in the payment of salaries to Officials and Agents of the Mozambican State is not due to a lack of financial resources.
According to the Head of State, who was speaking at a press conference as part of the visit to Mozambique by Kenyan President William Ruto, this has to do with the transition that is causing delays, given the complexity of implementing the Single Salary Table, an instrument that benefits the majority of civil servants because it includes all allowances and bonuses in the salary.
"There are no salary problems because of shortages. We are migrating from one system to another in terms of the criteria for how salaries are processed within the framework of the Single Salary Table, which is a new element," said the President of the Republic.
For this reason, Nyusi appealed for patience in the civil service, assuring that the challenges will be overcome as the sectors working on the issue are committed to making the process more flexible.
"As you solve one problem, you create another. If we are calm enough, we will solve the problems. There needs to be an atmosphere of calm to solve the problem," he said.
