Oil continues to rise

Oil maintains the upward trend in Tuesday's session, with Brent - which serves as a reference for national imports - appreciating 0.6% to 108.18 dollars per barrel according to Investing quoted by Noticias ao Minuto.

On Monday, the price of a barrel of Brent oil for June delivery ended on the London futures market up 3% to $107.48.

The rise in the barrel price followed renewed calls for tightening sanctions on the Russian Federation, specifically with regard to energy exports.

The possibility of a veto on Russian hydrocarbons weighed mis on investors than the possible effect on demand of the confinement of the Chinese city of Shanghai, home to 25 million people, due to the new coronavirus pandemic.
