The parliament has convened for October 6th the start of another ordinary session, which will have as one of the main items on the agenda the controversial draft bill on Media and Broadcasting.

In total there are 30 items on the agenda and, according to the alignment made, the two legislations that focus on the media, which were initially scheduled for approval in the first quarter of this year, should be debated until the first half of November.

"The working committees will prepare their respective opinions and, as soon as they are concluded, the matter will be debated" said the spokesman for the Permanent Commission of the Assembly of the Republic, Alberto Mutukutuko, quoted by VOA.

One of the aspects that is at the center of the controversy in the bill presented by the Council of Ministers has to do with limiting the number of international news agency correspondents in the country.
