"The theme we're going to develop this year is: Europe-Africa, growth opportunities" for this alliance, talking about "investment, infrastructures, energy transition and digital transformation", António Calçada de Sá, president of the Portuguese Diaspora Council, told Lusa in an interview.
In this 6th edition, one of the themes will be innovation, "but already with very concrete projects for Africa," he said during the interview.
With about a month to go until the forum, the organization has confirmed the presence of ministers and public decision-makers from all the Portuguese-speaking African countries (PALOP), as well as South Africa, Zimbabwe and Rwanda, and expressions of willingness to participate from others, which could exceed a dozen.
With leading figures from the business and financial world, but also from academia, the sciences, culture and citizenship, the president of the Diaspora Council believes that this will be a great opportunity to showcase "concrete projects, many of which are already happening or have been done" and to "attract the main stakeholders".
The event, which will take place in Carcavelos, Portugal on July 18 and 19, will be attended by at least 500 people.
