A health worker at the provincial hospital in Lichinga, Niassa, has been arrested after swindling more than 1 million meticais with promises of civil service jobs.
According to the National Criminal Investigation Service (SERNIC), the accused, in connection with her husband, collected money from citizens with promises to facilitate employment.
"From the work we did, it emerged that she was actually collecting money from some individuals and promising that she could facilitate their integration into the state apparatus," said SERNIC, the Niassa delegation.
According to the authorities, quoted by Success TVAccording to the report, at least 15 victims have already been identified who were allegedly swindled by the accused. "The victims have been charged more than 1 million meticais, so a total of 15 citizens."
Meanwhile, according to SERNIC, there are still suspicions that more people are involved in this scam, and it is working to identify and neutralize them.
