The payment of the 13th salary to state employees is conditional on funds being made available. The government doesn't know if it will pay the salary, especially after the whirlwind of demands caused by the entry into force of the Single Salary Table (TSU).
The Minister of Economy and Finance, Max Tonela, said that evaluations are still underway, the results of which will determine whether or not the 13th salary will be paid. According to the Minister, the government will evaluate the recommendations and decide what to do.
"The work is going well. The evaluation commissions are doing their job. We'll have to take the recommendations for a decision, those that depend on the government, and once all the impacts have been assessed, decisions will be made. Nothing has been decided yet," said Tonela, quoted today by "O Pais Economico".
In another development, Max Tonela said that the return of the total for the resumption of the gas project in Afungi, Cabo Delgado, is dependent on security conditions.
He said that he was in constant contact "with the Area 1 partners", and that he was aware of the security situation in the province. Tonela said that there is an agreement to resume activities as soon as the security situation allows.
There is ongoing work between the government and the interested parties "to safeguard the foundations of the projects so that, when the time comes, there can be conditions to resume construction work, including commitments to financiers, gas borrowers, builders and others".
