Nampula municipality allocates circulating resources to improve health services

Município de Nampula aloca meios circulantes para melhorar os serviços de saúde

The mayor of the city of Nampula, Luís Giquira, handed over two ambulances and six motorcycles to the residents of the municipality, which will be used to bring health services, especially primary health services, closer to the citizens.

Speaking today, Wednesday (08), during the handover ceremony, Luís Giquira assured that the two ambulances, duly equipped, are from the municipality of Amarante, in Portugal, and have been in the largest urban center since last year. "And the six motorcycles were bought by the current city council and will be used to provide first aid at the city's administrative posts," he added.

Quoted by the portal IkweliGiquira also called for greater vigilance on the part of users so that resources are not diverted to pursue activities that do not concern the emergency care of residents.

"I'd like to ask you, dear residents, that these ambulances and motorcycles are to serve our patients, I'd like you to be vigilant, keep an eye out in your administrative offices for any detour of the motorcycles for purposes that have not been assigned to them. We don't want these motorcycles to be used as motorcycle cabs, we don't want these ambulances to be used to carry coal or firewood, but to transport our residents in good conditions and take them to hospital," he appealed.

The mayor said that the circulating media could help the health sector reduce cases of maternal mortality in the communities.

In the meantime, residents who now have vehicles equipped with first-aid kits are asking that they not be restricted in their use when requested.
