The Youth Square, in the Magoanine district of Maputo City, will be closed as of Monday for requalification.

According to a note from the Maputo Municipal Council, the preliminary work includes cleaning, the voluntary removal of residents who carry out commercial activity there, the placement of signs and subsequent fencing.

The deputy director of Urban Infrastructure at the Maputo Municipal Council (CMM), Inocêncio Bernardo, revealed that 12 million meticais are available for the first phase of the requalification.

In the second stage, in 2023, it is planned to build a youth monument on the site.
