Mozambique asks Afreximbank for support for MSMEs

This Tuesday, the Minister of Economy and Finance, Max Tonela, asked the executive of the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) to pay greater attention to its support for the development of Mozambican micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs). The idea is to boost Mozambique's efforts towards economic recovery.

Max Tonela, who was speaking at a meeting in Washington with Afreximbank's executive vice-president for Finance, Administration and Banking Services, said that Mozambican MSMEs need financial strength in order to take advantage of the country's potential.

The Minister reiterated the government's commitment to the local private sector in order to take advantage of the existing value chain in the hydrocarbons sector and other economic areas.

Max Tonela will be one of the speakers at a seminar on the response to climate change in the world, at the World Bank headquarters in Washington, as part of the Annual Meetings of the Institution and the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
