Staff from the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) and its Portuguese counterpart recently exchanged experiences on taxation.

According to a note from the MEF, the delegation prioritized the analytical work needed to define a coherent fiscal policy in the medium term.

"The discussions centered on inter-institutional coordination, within the framework of the drafting, analysis and implementation of tax policy," the ministry's statement said.

According to MEF, during the meeting, the two delegations analyzed the impact of tax policy on both the macroeconomic and household levels, and on revenue forecasting techniques for the state budget.
