The economist and former Minister of Finance, Tomaz Salomão, says that one of the ways Mozambique has to keep the confidence of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), is to share any difficulties that arise.
Tomaz Salomão, who was speaking yesterday in an interview granted to Radio Mozambique, recalls that proactive attitudes are essential to ensure the confidence of any institution.
"And if for some reason, we are having some difficulty or some problem, we always have a proactive attitude, that is, we alert the partner. But this does not mean that we do not want to bring the program to a good end, no, we have this intention to bring the program to a good end, but obviously, in the management of a country, because of the unpredictable, exogenous factors, something may happen that leads us to some deviation," he told Radio Mozambique.
The economist also said that Mozambique cannot afford to make past mistakes and lose the IMF's trust again.
