Membros da Commonwealth comprometidos com a recuperação económica

Commonwealth member countries commit to implementing actions aimed at economic recovery and combating the impact of climate change.

The commitment was made in a statement presented at the end of the twenty-sixth Commonwealth summit that closed on Saturday night in Kigali, the capital of Rwanda.

The Mozambican Prime Minister makes a positive evaluation of the country's participation in the meeting.

"The issue of economic and social development, youth involvement. So these issues were all looked at and certainly, the last one, the empowerment of women. All these issues were approved and some suggestions were given for improvement and intervention in these areas. This idea that peace and stability is the condition without which we cannot grow was reinforced. Effort has to be made after the pandemic of covid-19 to recover the economies and now this support is more important when we have the issue of Ukraine that has effects on rising prices," he said.

Among the topics addressed at the Summit were youth employability, the impact of climate change, the Russia/Ukraine conflict, and the covid-19 pandemic.
