Medidas de alívio da crise económica apresentadas próximo mês

The measures to mitigate the impact of the world economic crisis in Mozambique will be presented by the Government in the first fortnight of August, announced, this Wednesday, the President of the Republic.

"My Government is producing measures for the mitigation of the socio-economic impact of the reality experienced and they will be the object of disclosure during the first fortnight of next month," said Filipe Nyusi, during the inauguration of a complex of silos, valued 1,250 thousand dollars, in the district of Milange, in Zambezia province.

The PR said that the crisis has shown the importance of investing in the massification of national production to solve internal problems in the food supply chain, as well as in the storage capacity of agricultural products.

"Our agriculture and its entire value chain are a large part of the answer to current global and national challenges," he stressed.

The head of state pointed to the covid-19 pandemic, the Russian-Ukrainian conflict as the causes on the high cost of food and fuel products.

"The current challenging reality in the world has repercussions on the rising cost of living in most countries, including Mozambique. This situation has been aggravated by the covid-19 pandemic and has caused the disruption of global logistics, affecting production, markets, certification, distribution and the high cost of seeds, fertilizers and agrochemicals in general," he explained.

In Zambezia, Filipe Nyusi also inaugurated two medium voltage power lines, one in Namacurra district and another in Mocuba.
