This morning, the government, through the Council of Ministers, approved a resolution removing Marcelino Gildo Alberto from the post of Chairman of the Board of Directors (PCA) of the public company Electricidade de Moçambique (EDM). In his place, the government appointed Joaquim Henriques Ou-chim.

Joaquim Henriques Ou-chim is an EDM employee who has held various positions, including executive director for the Electrification Area and director of the Social Energy Department.

Marcelino Gildo, who has been with EDM since 1993, has held various positions in the company, including Head of Department, Project Manager, Project Director, Member of the Board of Directors, Advisor to the Board of Directors and Advisor to the CEO.
