The second phase of the doubling of the Maputo-Ressano Garcia railway line is due to go ahead soon, and with this in mind, Portos e Caminhos de Ferro de Moçambique (CFM) is looking for a specialist consultant.

The project will be implemented in the Movene-Ressano section, in the Moamba district of Maputo province.

The line should respond to demand from South Africa's industrial sector, which uses the Mozambican corridor in its trade. The works include the expansion of the Ressano Garcia shipyard.

The company that will be contracted to carry out the works will have to assist in the management and auditing of the project accounts, prepare the disbursements and manage the environmental and social risks.

The first phase of the doubling of the Maputo-Ressano line, on the Maputo-Secongene section in Moamba, and the extension of the Central station in Maputo were completed in September last year. The project was valued at 80 million dollars.
