On Monday (16), the Minister of Economy and Finance, Adriano Maleiane, promoted staff changes in the department he heads, dismissing five national directors, two deputy national directors and three heads of central departments.

These are the first changes since he took over position last August, replacing Max TonelaHe has been Prime Minister since March 2022.

According to a Savannah newspaperCiting a note from the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), Maleiane ordered the national director of Administration and Human Resources, José Bandeira, the national director of Monitoring and Evaluation, Jorge Aquimo Sipanela, the national director of Public Debt Management, Isabel Sumar, the national director of Treasury and Economic and Financial Cooperation, Chamila Aly and the national director of State Assets, Albertina Fruquia, to leave office.

The deputy national director of State Assets, Dário Passo, and the deputy national director of the Treasury and Economic and Financial Cooperation, Amorim Perry, were also dismissed.

The heads of central departments Luís João Matsinhe, Óscar Laíce and Rute Cangela also stepped down.

Maleiane appointed João Bandeira, national director of Treasury and Economic and Financial Cooperation, Chamila Aly, national director of Public Debt Management, Isabel Sumar, national director of Monitoring and Evaluation, Dário Passo, national director of State Assets, Albertina Fruquia, national director of Administration and Human Resources, and Alda Manjate, director of the Asset Management Office.

Also appointed were Luís Matsinhe, deputy director of the Treasury and Economic and Financial Cooperation, Rute Cangela, deputy national director of Public Debt Management, and Óscar Laíce, deputy director of State Assets.
