The new Mozambican telenovela "Maida" premiered recently on the newly launched TV channel "Maning Magic", becoming the first national production to air in prime time in the country and with new chapters every day, from Monday to Friday.
The PANAVÍDEO production is an adaptation of a successful format already produced and aired in Africa, whose first season has 130 episodes.
The story depicts the life of a naïve young girl of rural origin, who left her family and her studies to go to the big city to work as a maid in the house of the rich and complex Sitoe family.
According to the executive producer of the soap opera, Gabriela Gulamhussen, the soap opera spreads the reality of the Mozambican woman, as well as her characteristics.
"Strong woman and warrior who in the midst of so many adversities makes her radiance infectious to those around her by the positive," he said, with the expectation that the novel will "make everyone proud."
"We intend to demonstrate to the public that we can have national fiction production on our channels on a regular basis and with quality," said João Ribeiro, the channel's Director.
The telenovela was produced by Gabriela Gulamussen and Telma da Silva, and directed by Ivandro Mahocha.
