Former Mozambican statesman Joaquim Chissano argues that the African Dialogue on Prosperity (APD) should become a catalyzing forum for transformative actions.
Speaking at this APD summit, which is taking place at the Peduase Presidential Lodge in Aburi Hills, Ghana, and which ends today, Saturday, the former president stressed that this African Dialogue "must become a constructive forum, and a catalyst for transformative actions".
The event will be attended by the Prime Minister, Adriano Maleiane, representing the Mozambican Head of State, Filipe Nyusi.
For his part, the President of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo, quoted by AIM, said that with the adoption of the AfCFTA [which deals with free trade issues in Africa], the continent will, by determination, add value to its natural resources and increase trade, across the continent, as an impetus to achieve more inclusion. "That is the determination reflected in the theme of this year's dialogue."
The continental forum taking place in Ghana is an initiative that seeks opportunities for the implementation of the continental free trade agreement.
Today, Saturday, the Prime Minister, Adriano Maleiane, will speak on a panel that will bring together leaders from different areas, businesspeople, the public and private sectors.
