The Delegate of the National Road Administration in Zambezia, Jorge Govanhica, says that despite the reopening of the bridge over the Elege River in Mariarua, Nicoadala district, this Wednesday, the contractor will remain on site for some improvement work, control and evaluation of the temporary infrastructure.
Jorge Govanhica was speaking at a press conference on Wednesday afternoon that marked the first day of reopening of the Nicoadala Namacurra section that was interrupted since Saturday due to the destruction of the bridge over the elege river along the national road number one.
Motorists cross the bridge in stages and for carriers are required to unload passengers.
It is estimated that more than two to three thousand vehicles cross the bridge to various points in the province of Zambezia and in the country, which is the reason for the great concern of almost all segments of civil society and politics not only to repair the damage but also to put a new bridge.
Jorge Govanhica Delegate of the National Roads Administration in Zambezia did not estimate the costs of the operation that involved more than a hundred workers from a road construction company.
