Mozambique saw Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) rise by 41.5% to around 3500 million dollars last year.

However, the figure is still below the maximum of 5101 million dollars received in 2021. In 2022 FDI stood at 2509 million dollars and 2458 million dollars in 2023 - which was an increase of two percent compared to 2022.

In the previous government's view, 2024 should see a doubling of FDI, driven by the natural gas exploration business, to 4778 million dollars.

In 2023, according to NewsFDI exceeded the executive's projections of 1425 million dollars.
