This year, the government has already refunded more than 7.3 billion meticais in Value Added Tax (VAT) to companies in the first half of the year.
The reimbursement takes place as part of the exercise of the state's commitments to the private sector.
The figure represents an improvement compared to the same period in 2023, when just over 6.6 billion meticais were reimbursed, according to "Notícias."
The figures were released by the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF).
For some time now, the private sector has been complaining to the government about the slowness of VAT refunds, demanding that procedures be made more flexible.
In 2022, the CTA revealed that 904 requests for reimbursement were made, estimated at 25.6 billion meticais, of which 96 were authorized.
