Mozambique aims to boost domestic production in order to increase export levels and improve the country's trade balance.
To this end, the government and partners are implementing MozExport, a platform focused on establishing trade agreements and opportunities for export diversification.
According to the Deputy Minister for Industry and Trade, Ludovina Bernardo, who was speaking today at the opening of the MozExport conference, held in partnership with the European Union, "the initiative will help to promote national production that meets international quality standards".
For her part, the European Union representative at the event, Veerle Smet, acknowledged that "Mozambique is on a good path as far as exports are concerned, despite some of the challenges the country still faces".
