The provincial government of Nampula, in the north of the country, assures there is availability of basic necessities for the upcoming festive season, especially chicken, eggs, rice, corn flour, sugar, cooking oil, beef, including beverages.

According to the Nampula Provincial Director of Industry and Commerce, Alfredo Nampuio, a team from his institution has just verified the existence of sufficient quantities of these products in the main warehouses and other reference suppliers in Nampula province.

"Everything indicates that the population of Nampula province will get through the Christmas and New Year holidays without any problems, because there is enough stock," he assured.

For Alfredo Nampuio, this availability of basic products satisfies the government authorities in Nampula. Still, "vegetables, especially tomatoes, cucumbers, and peppers may eventually be the only products in short supply.
