Governo avalia medidas de recuperação das empresas afectadas pelas manifestações

The President of the Republic, Daniel Chapo, met this Thursday (20) in Maputo with the Association of Commercial Banks, to assess and announce immediate measures for the economic recovery of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) affected by the post-election demonstrations that culminated in the vandalization and destruction of several companies..

"In relation to this moment that we are going through, the first measure that is related to the restructuring of the debts of SMEs, through communication, for us is very important, related to the rescheduling of debt, the issue of extending the deadlines is very important for our economy, as they said very well here "this will allow us to secure jobs, they have an impact not only economic, but social for our society and economy," said Chapo, quoted in a publication by the AIM.

According to the President of the Republic, another measure has to do with opening up subsidized credit lines for companies that have suffered from the vandalization but have no debt.

"We also want to fully agree, the interest, around 15% per year, we think is very well thought out for the new actions, and if implemented will increase credit to the economy," added the Mozambican statesman, stressing that the government will sit down with the country's development partners to find criteria for making these financial resources available and using them.
