France provides 1 million euros to strengthen the fight against malnutrition in the north of the country

The French government promised today that through the World Food Program (WFP), it will disburse one million euros to strengthen the fight against malnutrition in the north of the country.

According to PAM, the contribution is intended to support the government's National Nutritional Rehabilitation Program, which aims to treat and prevent acute malnutrition.

In a statement released by the United Nations agency, the amount will benefit nearly 90,000 people in the three provinces of Cabo Delgado, Nampula and Niassa, with priority being given to pregnant and breastfeeding women.

"France's support comes at an opportune moment, allowing us to provide a package of preventive and treatment activities to vulnerable groups of people," said Antonella D'Aprile, WFP's representative in Mozambique.
