The Prime Minister, Adriano Maleiane, on Friday encouraged national and foreign businesspeople to invest in Niassa, highlighting the areas of agriculture and mining as potential that the region has in abundance.

Speaking at the opening of the first Niassa Investment Forum, Maleiane stressed that agriculture and mining in Niassa had the greatest weight, estimated at 43% in the country's economy.

As for the Niassa Investment Forum, where a portfolio of 40 projects is on display, the government official also highlighted fishing, flora and fauna as other potentialities of the province, which need investment.

Quoted by Rádio Moçambique, Adriano Maleane said that Niassa is seeing an improvement in the business environment, thanks to investment by the Mozambican government and partners in economic and social infrastructure.
