The President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, said this afternoon that the solutions to Mozambique's problems can only be found by the Mozambicans themselves, admitting that other support is welcome as in previous cases.

The Mozambican Head of State made these pronouncements at the Office of the President of the Republic, during a meeting with the political parties sitting in the next Assembly of the Republic.

"As has happened in more complex cases, it was we ourselves who believed in our ability and found a solution without schemes or arrangements," said the Mozambican statesman.

Mozambique is experiencing violent protests and hundreds of deaths since the National Electoral Commission (CNE) announced the election results. The scenario became more acute last Monday (23) when the Constitutional Council decided to validate and proclaim Frelimo and its presidential candidate, Daniel Chapo, as the winner of the October 9 general elections.

More than 500 businesses were vandalized during the demonstrations.
