The President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, today, Wednesday (17), addressed the official opening of the International Conference on the Miombo Forest, an event taking place in Washington, capital of the United States of America (USA).

Today, according to the newspaper SundayIt is also hoped that the Letter of Commitment will be adopted, which will enable the actions recommended in the Maputo Declaration, signed in August 2022, on the need to mobilize resources for the preservation of the Miombo forest.

Signed by ten states from the southern African region plus the Republic of Congo, the Maputo Declaration appointed Filipe Nyusi to lead actions to mobilize the resources needed to preserve the Miombo forest.
