Since yesterday, Thursday, the city of Nampula has been hosting the 5th Annual Nampula Gems Fair (FAGENA), in which at least 30 exhibitors from the mineral resources sector are expected to take part.
According to the director of the Provincial Infrastructure Services (SPI) in Nampula, Gil de Carvalho, the aim of the fair is to create opportunities for those who have been anonymous or gold diggers to exhibit their products, as well as ensuring greater control in the licensing and marketing process, which will allow for greater revenue for the state coffers.
"It's a fair that we hold every year, it started in 2016 and was halted for about two years due to COVID-19. We now want to hold the fair because it's an opportunity to exhibit precious and non-precious metals and gems for sale," reiterated Gil de Carvalho.
According to the source, "at this fair the exhibitors will have the opportunity to sell to those who are interested in purchasing these products".
The 5th edition of FAGENA will also feature exhibitors from the provinces of Niassa, Cabo Delgado, Zambézia, Teté and Manica.
