Lack of quality education hinders women's integration into the country's life

The project manager of the Institute for Multiparty Democracy believes that the lack of quality education for women is an obstacle to the integration of this social stratum in the country's political processes.

The position was defended this Tuesday, in Maputo, at a reflection event on Gender Integration in Political Processes in Mozambique, held under the slogan "gender equality today, for a sustainable tomorrow".

According to Lorena Mazive, education should be considered the main tool for women to achieve equal opportunities.

For her part, the researcher from the African studies center, argues that the respect for women's human rights is another challenge that Mozambique faces.

Isabel Casimiro added that there are limitations to women's candidacy in local and presidential elections in the country.

The event held by the Institute for Multiparty Democracy had as its objective, to seek ways to expand the political space for women in Mozambique.
