Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al-Thani has made a potentially final offer for Manchester United, which, according to the Times, would also serve to ward off INEOS owner Jim Ratcliffe, who many believe is the favorite to take control of the Old Trafford team.
However, the Qataris are not giving up. Through the Nine Two Foundation, they have informed Raine Group, the financial institution managing the sale, that they have increased the offer made at the last auction, which is certainly a change of plan from what some thought.
According to Notícias ao Minuto, the Qatari bid is the only one that includes 100% of the club, something that doesn't convince the current owners, the Glazers. In fact, the North American owners are more comfortable with the possibility of keeping part of the ownership, as would be the case with Ratcliffe's offer, which is only for 80% of the club.
INEOS' offer is almost 7 billion euros (provided the purchase of the entire club is completed in the next few years), although sources on the Qatari side consider this figure to be above the logical valuation.
Without giving official figures, Qatar is currently putting 6 billion euros on the table for Manchester United's 100%, an improved offer compared to the last one and one with which they believe they will be able to get the Glazers' agreement.
