EMOSE pays 380 million meticais in compensation to companies that were victims of Idai

The Mozambican Insurance Company (EMOSE) paid about 380 million meticais in compensation to companies affected by tropical cyclone Idai, which buffeted the city of Beira, Sofala province, in 2019.

Most of the companies insured by EMOSE, in Beira City, operate in the fields of transportation, commerce, industry and logistics that have seen their assets totally or partially destroyed by the cyclone.

At the top of the insured that received the largest cake of compensation is the Development Aid from People to People (ADPP), a non-governmental organization that operates in the areas of education, health, agriculture and welfare, which saw its clothing stores washed away by rainwater, having been paid, by EMOSE, more than 33 million meticais.

The information was revealed by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of EMOSE, Joaquim Langa, in an interview with AIM.
