About 850 Education sector employees, mostly directors and deputy directors of schools at different levels of education in Nampula are exercising their functions without proper nomination, i.e. illegally.
The information was advanced by the governor of Nampula himself, Manuel Rodrigues, during the third planning meeting of the sector, held recently in the city of Nampula.
The governor recognizes that the numbers are worrying, and has instructed the sector to remedy the problem, because according to him these employees cannot continue to exercise their positions illegally.
Manuel Rodrigues also expressed his concern about the poor management of the 21 public boarding schools and nursing homes, which results in a lack of hygiene, recommending the sector to do everything possible so that these centers don't become foci of outbreak and dissemination of diseases.
On the other hand, the differentiation in terms of pedagogical performance among the districts of Nampula was the motive for analysis at the meeting.
According to the governor, it is incomprehensible, for example, that the district of Rapale has an educational achievement of 98.8 % and that of Mecuburi is far below this figure.
