The state-owned company Electricidade de Moçambique (EDM) launched a portal in Maputo today (16) to ensure the promotion of integrity, transparency, equality, competitiveness and speed in the process of contracting services throughout the value chain.
This is the supplier and service provider management portal, which according to EDM's Chairman of the Board of Directors, Marcelino Gildo, is part of the company's ongoing procurement reforms since 2017, aimed at reducing the time it takes to complete the procurement process, eliminating repetitive tasks, manual errors and greater reliability in the company's procurement.
"The portal's emergence is due to the increase in the world's demands and pressure in terms of time, costs and prices in the company's administrative processes," said Marcelino Gildo, quoted by AIM.
According to him, the new portal will ensure a more dynamic and flexible flow of operations, allowing EDM employees to focus on value-added tasks, such as decision-making, supplier analysis and negotiation, among others.
"As we had the opportunity to see during the presentation of the platform's functionalities and the tests carried out, this is a supplier management portal that will generate significant savings by making it possible to control purchases in real time, as well as improving performance in relations with our suppliers," said EDM's CEO.
The portal will also ensure that suppliers are audited, identifying problems and possible solutions that can anticipate trends in the stock of goods and services financed by EDM.
