A Thai national is facing charges of human trafficking against the Mozambican authorities.
The foreign national allegedly carried out all the travel acts for 11 Mozambican citizens. They were promised jobs with a salary of 60,000 meticais in Thailand.
According to the National Criminal Investigation Service (SERNIC), nationals have been promised jobs in casinos.
SERNIC spokesman Hilário Lole said that the accused had not requested any documentation such as CVs from Mozambican citizens.
"The most interesting thing about all this is that he didn't go with them. [The Mozambicans] went on without any contact there, without knowing what they were going to do there, without any contract having been made," he said, quoted by Radio Mozambique.
