The presidential candidate of the Frelimo party, Daniel Chapo, has pledged to govern Mozambique based on his experience as a public servant if he wins the elections on October 9, highlighting that his direct opponents have no experience of leadership, and that he is the only one who has held several positions in government and has done a lot of work.
Chapo advanced this approach in the districts of Memba and Eráti, where he addressed two popular rallies on his first day of canvassing in the northern province of Nampula, Mozambique's largest constituency, recalling "that he did a good job when he was administrator of Nacala-a-Velha".
"When I left Nacala-a-Velha, the people didn't like it because they knew they were losing a good leader. I went to Palma and did the job well. I was governor for eight years in Inhambane and I also governed well. The others have never led and in their first job they want to be president," he said.
According to a AIMIn the district of Nacala-a-Velha, Chapo led the process that culminated in the construction of the port and the railway line linking it to the coal mines of Moatize, in the central province of Tete.
"I was administrator of Nacala-a-Velha, near here, you've seen it. We did beautiful things for the people. I'm going to govern based on experience," emphasized Chapo.
